"My partner and I had wanted to purchase a house for many years. Every few months we'd start looking at places, then quickly become overwhelmed, and pause our search for another few months. We met a lot of agents and while many of them seemed good enough, we never felt comfortable enough to work with one and commit to buying a place, until we met Amanda.
When we first met her, we spoke for only 10 minutes, but in that time we learned that Amanda was very informative, understanding of our needs, and mindful of our price range. We knew we wanted to continue the conversation more seriously about looking for a house. We met with Amanda for about an hour some time later and learned so much about the process of buying, we knew that we found the right agent for us.
Amanda is a San Francisco native and knows the city very well. We talked a lot about our preferences for a new house, and even though we felt our expectations were high, she always made us feel like we'd find exactly what we were looking for. With that information she began suggesting properties for us to look at. And she took a hands-on approach to scoping out houses - she picked us up at our apartment, drove us around the city, and even brought snacks from Tartine on several occasions.
Amanda knows a lot about houses, and can spot all sorts of issues before even seeing the disclosures. We went to many open houses with her and she made observations with uncanny accuracy, like a TV detective. And we learned a lot because of that - like what questions to ask about the house, about the previous owners, and what parts of the house to pay special attention to.
Being a San Francisco native, Amanda also has a very strong sense of community and has chosen to work with agencies that are also community-minded. She's even committed to donating a portion of her commission to charities of her clients' choice. We didn't know this about working with her upfront, but based on her personality it didn't surprise us one bit!
If you have questions about buying or selling, or are on the fence about getting started, I sincerely suggest you give Amanda an hour of your time and you'll see why working with the right person can make all the difference. In the future we hope to work with Amanda again, and we'll be recommending her to a lot of San Franciscans."
